Sex scandals seem to be the hot topic this month, and no profession should be left out.

Clergymen, football players, hot college women and male student athletes, and of course, America’s favorite, the politician.



Democratic Congressional hopeful from Virginia, Krystal Ball, held an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly earlier this week to talk about the photos of her that surfaced on a Republic blog sometime last week. The photographs featured Ball with her now ex-husband at a Christmas party where Ball was posing with her husband. The themed costume party took place 6 years ago. Ball appeared in a dark spaghetti strap tank top and a skirt wearing a Santa hat, as Mrs. Claus, while her husband appeared as a reindeer in a matching hat with a bright red phallus for his nose. Ball was fresh out of college at the time and has admitted that at the time she had never imagined becoming a politician.

Ball has stated that she believes political opponent, Republican Rob Wittman, to be the source of the photographs, despite Wittman’s emphatic denial. It was Wittman himself who supposedly ordered that the photos be removed from the blog. The Democratic candidate believes that it was part of a plot in a “sexist smear campaign”, knowing that she would terribly embarrassed by the photographs.

Ball told Kelly that she believed that there was a double standard for women in politics, and cited incident involving Senator Scott Brown, who admitted that having sexually revealing photographs of himself publicized actually helped to bolster his campaign.
